Augmented Reality in Educational Laboratories (ARiEL)

The goal of ARiEL is to aid students in chemistry labs to better understand instrumentation. Two instruments, pH meter and conductivity meter, are being utilized as they are small, benchtop equipment used widely in general chemistry laboratory courses. The augmented reality (AR) function allows students to interact with the application to obtain more information about the instrument(s). Various forms of information on how to use the instruments, applications and experiments, as well as how the instruments operate are included in the website. Usability studies are in progress.
