Marilu Perez

Marilu Dick-Perez Ph.D., Chemistry, Iowa State University (2014)
B.S., Chemistry, Idaho State University (2007)
A.S., Chemistry, College of Southern Idaho (2006)

Marilu graduated from the group in 2014. Her dissertation included research in understanding plant cell wall carbohydrates using simulated NMR as well as understanding the malonic acid keto-enol tautomerism. She then continued in the group as a postdoctoral researcher working in the Critical Materials Institute to develop quantum mechanical methods to perform high level screening of extractant ligands and develop parameter fitting software for molecular mechanics. In 2017, Marilu was hired on at Ames Lab as an Associate Scientist based on her excellent work in the Critical Materials Institute.
