Her dissertation included research in understanding plant cell wall carbohydrates using simulated NMR as well as understanding the malonic acid keto-enol tautomerism. She then continued in the group as a postdoctoral researcher working in the Critical Materials Institute to develop quantum mechanical methods to perform high level screening of extractant ligands and develop parameter fitting software for molecular mechanics.
