GROUP

PIONEERING

RESEARCH

Under the supervision of Dr. Wenyu Huang, who completed his Ph.D. at Georgia Institute of Technology and postoctoral research at UC Berkeley, our group is doing cutting-edge research in the areas of heterogenious catalysis using intermetallic compounds (IMCs), metal organic frameworks (MOFs), and functionalized graphene for biomass conversion.

DIVERSE

TEAM

Students in professor Huang's group are passionate learners and hard workers. With people from China, Malasia, India, United States and Russia, our team is, perhaps, the most diverse in all of the chemistry department at Iowa State. We're supportive and inspiring for each other.

UNIQUE

EXPERIENCE

Every researcher in our lab has a full access to a wide variety of advanced instrumentation, including FTIR spectrometer, gas and liquid chromatography, mass spectrometer, ICP-MS for elemental analysis, physi- and chemi-sorption, electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, gas flow reactor system, high-pressure reactor, and many more.
