Chemistry Experiment Simulations, Tutorials and Conceptual Computer Animations for Introduction to College Chemistry (aka General Chemistry)

These simulations and animations were made using either Macromedia Director or Flash. Your computer and browser need to have the MacroMedia Shockwave Player (with the Flash Player) in order to play the animations and simulations. Your browser should be Netscape Communicator V6 or higher or Microsoft's Explorer V5.2 or higher. To get the Macormedia plug-in and player go to: http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/

Some of the animations are designed to be used by chemistry instructors in presentations. These do not have directions or other information. Other animations are designed for students to use on their own or in group-work. Some of the animations and simulations have guided-inquiry tutorials to accompany them.

Your comments and suggestions for improvement of the animations, simulations and tutorials are welcome. These animations, simulations and tutorials are drafts - works in progress. If you spot an error, or see something that needs to be improved, please let us know.

Please let us know if you experience a broken link or if the animations, simulations, or tutorials you expect to access are not accessible.

We have received numerous requests from chemistry instructors about downloading the simulations. For now, youi may download our Flash movies (simulations) by linking to our simulation download page You will not need a password. You may download the files and make use of them in your classroom. Do not copy them and or distribute them. Please give credit where and when credit is due.
